Kinesiology National Occupational Standards (KNOS)

Draft Kinesiology National Occupational Standards

The Association of Systematic Kinesiology (A.S.K.) has been intimately involved in forming the draft kinesiology national occupational standards (KNOS).

Skills for Health (Sector Skills Council), are the Standards Setting Body for Health in the UK. They have been working with representative groups within Kinesiology in order to develop National Occupational Standards (NOS) for Kinesiology.

The NOS may be downloaded by clicking onto the headings listed below:

Please note you will require Adobe Acrobat to read the NOS. (Download the free Adobe Acrobat reader here)

National Occupational Standards (NOS) are the building blocks for developing qualification structures (including, but not limited to, NVQ/SVQ accreditation) and can be used by forming and established Regulatory Bodies, to define therapy/discipline areas, the Practitioner role, and as the basis for qualifications and progression within the sector.

The Association of Systematic Kinesiology, being a professional organisation, can also use the standards to establish frameworks and pre-requirements for entry into our professional body, training courses, and progression / continuing professional development routes thereafter.
